Passport issuing procedures
- From 1st of January 2004, the British Embassy in Khartoum no longer issue British passports. Whilst we will continue to accept and process applications in the usual way, the British Embassy in Cairo will undertake the physical production of the passports, all of which are machine-readable.
- Unfortunately, this new system means that our passport issuing process will take longer than usual. We estimate that our standard service will now take 6-8 weeks and our courier service, where the applicant pays the courier costs, 3 weeks. Please therefore bear these times in mind when completing and submitting your application.
Please note
- All documents must be supplied before an application can be accepted.
- Adult first time applicants will be called to attend an interview.
- A Domicile Questionnaire will need to be completed for a child whose father may potentially have a polygamous marriage.
