The United Kingdom wishes to see a Sudan which is peaceful, democratic and prosperous; which respects human rights and the rule of law; whose people share equally in the nation's wealth and development, with all Sudanese treated equally, regardless of race or religion; and which is an active member of the international community.  

We are working to develop a forward-looking relationship between the United Kingdom and Sudan that builds upon our strong historical ties to deliver this vision.

The UK priorities are to try to help advance implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, to assist on the Darfur peace process, to promote further progress on human rights and democratisation and to deliver effective relief to those in need.
