British Ambassadorhosts reception to mark successful co-operation between the British Museum andthe Sudanese National Museum
The British Ambassador to Sudan, Dr Rosalind Marsden, hosteda reception to mark the successfulcompletion of the first year of a British Embassy project to support theSudanese National Museum.
The British Ambassador said: “I am proud to welcome VivianDavies and Derek Wellsby from the British Museum, two of our foremostarchaeological experts on Sudan and Ancient Egypt. They have devoted many yearsto preserving and promoting interest in Sudan’s cultural heritage.
The British Embassy is proud to be supporting the valuablework that they have been doing with the National Museum, providing on-sitetraining and expert advice to help the Sudanese curators to enhance theirmuseum as a centre of culture, education and research.
We look forward to continuing to support these exchanges todeepen and strengthen the links of friendship between Britain and Sudan.”

A number of NGO and business councils, together with International Alert, have employed an innovative strategy to support the excluded to leverage the power of the business sector in potentially tipping the balance towards a lasting peace.
Speaking in the House of Commons, the Foreign Secretary paid tribute to the "bravery, commitment and professionalism" of UK soldiers, diplomats and aid workers working in Afghanistan.
Minister for Europe Chris Bryant voiced support for the first UK-Kosovo Investment Forum, which takes place in London, on Tuesday 24 November.
