How to Register Death?

• Appoint an international undertaker. They will liase with both the UK and Sudan undertakers and the local authorities in Sudan. They should obtain a Health Clearance Certificate from the airport authorities. The documents required for this are a local death certificate and a health clearance / embalming certificate from the hospital.
• They should arrange for a customs official to be present when the coffin is sealed to confirm that only the remains of the deceased are contained. An Embassy official also has to be present.
• The coffin will be transported to the airport and an Airway Bill will be prepared to arrange despatch. All documents go with the coffin. ( including the passport)
• A copy of the documents will be faxed to the UK along with a letter from the embassy to ease customs clearance upon arrival in the UK.
