The aim of these events is to develop a better understanding of the UK's activities in Sudan. Working with the Sudanese people to deliver the peaceful and prosperous future that they deserve is a priority for the British Government.

FCO's Minister for Africa Baroness Kinnock and DFID Minister Gareth Thomas held a press briefing in London on Wednesday 6 January to announce a £54 million aid package for Sudan.

Where can I get information about how to apply for a UK visa in Sudan?
Sudanese nationals require a visa for travel to the UK. The UK Border Agency and the British Embassy, Khartoum work in partnership with a commercial organisation: Worldbridge. You can find out whether you need a visa and how to apply through Worldbridge’s website www.visainfoservices.com.
Worldbridge also provides information through an e-mail and telephone inquiry service, details of which can be found on their website. All the information provided is supplied and approved by the UK Border Agency.

During her visit to Khartoum, Minister for Africa Baroness Kinnock visited the Al Malak Centre for Disabled Children in Omdurman on 12January.
